It Died
We play in it, we sleep in it
Oops, it's dead. If I run away now, she will never know
It wasn't us, we're innocent. We've all been asleep on the bed.
Mmm, there seems to be one missing

Five Weeks
Mum has moved them twice this week, into DS1's room and then into DS2's room. It is making finding them very interesting.
This is the excuse DS2 has been waiting for all his life, not to pick up clothes and tidy his bedroom. Apparently, it makes for the perfect snugly kitty bed!
These two are the ones that really enjoy grown up food, in fact, the one on the right can get very protective of the scraps that are left.
Apart from one puddle, they have all worked out how to use the tray. They have found it can have more than just it's proper use. It's great for fighting in, and on the odd occasion, for sleeping in!
And then they do what they do best-play
Everything and everyone is a target. The only way to protect my legs, is to get up on the bed. What will I do when they've worked out how to get up there?

Four Weeks and Trouble
Of the nice kind.
Mum has moved them from her box to under the washstand. I think she has more room to spread out as the kittens were almost filling the box.
I got up this morning to kitties wandering all over the bedroom, and yes, they are starting to eat solids. If you look closely enough, you see tiny wet footprints where they have walked through the water bowls.
The best toy of all? My feet! They lick them, bite them, then try to climb up my legs!

Three Weeks Old
Who's this coming to look at us now?
Once the fun begins, let's fight. Wait a minute, there might be something interesting here....

Two Weeks Old
Two weeks old and their eyes are fully open. They now pay much more attention when you look in the box, even trying to hiss at the giants that keep peering in.
They manage to tie themselves in knots over each other and are just about trying to follow mum out of the box. Last night one crawled all the way out. Now we will have to watch where we are putting our feet.

A week Old
And they have grown and the eyes are beginning to open. This little one has them open a tiny bit because he wants to sleep, but his are the ones that are the widest open when he is awake. It is lovely to see their eyes now.
Won't be long and they will be able to go where they want.

He's back
Tugger is back. The fitting and twitching has stopped and he is more himself, but not quite. He is still very unsteady on his legs which is quite amusing, though it means he is very noisy when he is moving around. Cupboard doors and the floor seem to surprise him at awkward moments.
You can just about see where his ruff was shaved under his chins, presumably for administration of drugs and the drip. You can't see the bit on his leg that was shaved for the blood tests.
What the photos don't show, is the constant miaowing because he wants to go out. He is grounded for a few days, and he doesn't like it. He spent the night going and scratching at the cat flap at regular intervals trying to get out. With the dog and two other cats, it's going to be interesting trying to keep him in, especially as the boys are so used to going out and leaving the door open. Where are the sedatives when you need them!
Think Tugger might just have found the perfect thing, his new cat nip pouch!

Tugger is in hospital
I think it is a pet owners worst nightmare, coming in to see them having a fit.
Yesterday, as I was cleaning up, there was an almighty bang from J's bedroom and then it sounded like things were being thrown across the room. I might not have taken any notice, but the boys hadn't come back from a sleepover.
I found Tugger having a fit, and the poor little might was terrified. Once the worst was over, he continued with the shakes, but he purred the whole time I was with him.
The vet came and took him to be hospitalised. He suspects he has been poisoned, not necessarily on purpose. He has been given several doses of sedative, and though the shakes have diminished, they were still there. Tugger was also on a drip to give him fluids. As of yesterday, there was no damage to his kidneys.
I have to wait until later this morning for a further update, but I didn't half miss waking up to him at the bottom of the bed this morning.

Glutton for Punishment
You will probably have worked out, that I am definitely a cat person. I have resisted persistent request from the boys for a dog for many years. However, last week, this one needed a home very quickly due to a change in his family's circumstances.
Do you think he knows I prefer cats, so is pretending to be one, curled up in the cat's basket?
This is Finley, a two year old lurcher. Actually, he looks more whippet, and is quite small. Small is fine, as he fits into the house without taking over.
In his favour, he is very good tempered, and fairly obedient, but like all boys, he will try to take advantage when you're back is turned.
Let's hope the feline contingent settle soon to the new inhabitant

Please Don't Throw me out
When the boys are away, I usually end up leaving all my sewing stuff out so it is easy to get to. Kashka decided the fabric box was a perfect place to sleep.
She kept looking at me as I went past as if she was pleading with me not to throw her out. Unfortunately the boys are back, the box is closed and she will have to make do with my bed instead.

For me?
So this isn't my new mat for sitting on?
Typical cat, always thinks something warm and on the floor is for them.
